Gaby Darbyshire is a General Partner at Dangerous Ventures, a venture capital firm investing in bold startups tackling the biggest challenges facing people and the planet.
Previously, she was CEO of QXR Studios, an Augmented Reality games company with a blockchain based NFT game; Principal of Framestore Ventures, where she focused on developing
pioneering new technologies and intellectual property across all media platforms, including television series, console/online/VR games and interactive narratives, Mixed Reality applications and location-based entertainment, and, prior to Framestore, she was a co-founder and Chief Operating Officer of Gawker Media LLC - the largest independent online publisher, with titles including Gawker, Gizmodo, Jezebel, Lifehacker, io9 and Deadspin - from 2004 until 2013.
Gabrielle began her career as a barrister at Middle Temple in London and then as a strategy consultant working on strategy and M&A projects in the high tech, financial services, pharma and utilities industries. After moving to Silicon Valley in 1999, she was a strategy executive at what became Yahoo! Groups, then launched an e-commerce wine business and a local recommendation site before co-founding Gawker Media.
She sits on several boards in the media space, as well as serving as Chair of the Finance and Remumeration Committee of Global Witness, a global NGO that focuses on addressing environmental corruption.
