Mr. Murphy, together with Dr. Martinod, conceived of Skyline Vet Pharma and led raising the Seed and Series A financing rounds. Mr. Murphy’s background combines management, operations, venture capital, entrepreneurship, and business development experience. His entire career has been in early-stage chemical process and life science ventures, and
pioneering biotechnology firms. He was the founding general manager of two medical device companies; and helped grow several healthcare companies. Mr. Murphy was a co-founder of AviGenics, the first and leading avian transgenesis company. After a merger, AviGenics became Synageva Biopharma (GEVA) and was acquired by Alexion for $8+ billion in 2015. George was among the earliest investors and directors of AquaBounty Technology (ABTX). As General Partner of the Taraval Funds, he was the first institutional investor in Smart Drug Systems started by Dr. Martinod. Later, he and Dr, Martinod helped shape and start Jaguar Animal Health where he served as Senior Vice President for Business Development. Mr. Murphy was the General Partner of TransGen Partners and the Taraval Associates Seed Capital and Annex Funds. He graduated from Cornell University with a BSc in chemical engineering and holds an MBA from Stanford University.
