Gerald L. Hassell, 61, has served as a director since May 2008. He is the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of The Bank of New York Mellon ("BNYM").
Prior to the merger of The Bank of New York Company, Inc. and Mellon Financial Corporation in July 2007, Mr. Hassell was President of The Bank of New York Company, Inc. and The Bank of
New York. Mr. Hassell serves on BNYM’s Board of Directors.
He is also a member of the board of trustees of Duke University, a member of the Board of Visitors of Columbia University Medical Center, a member of the Financial Services Roundtable and Financial Services Forum, Vice Chairman of Big Brothers/Big Sisters of New York and a member of the boards of the New York Philharmonic, the Economic Club of New York and the National September 11 Memorial & Museum.
