Dr. Gideon Tolkowsky began his career in venture capital in 1982 with the New York-based firm of Adler & Company. In 1984, he returned to Israel and together with Dan Tolkowsky and Frederick R. Adler, he co-founded the Country's first venture fund Athena venture Partners. In 1990, together with his partner Mr. Yadin Kaufmann, Gideon

founded Israel's second venture firm Veritas Venture Partners. Veritas then raised the venture capital fund of Anglo American Veritas "AAV". Most of AAV's capital was invested by Anglo American Corporation (A large, multinational mining conglomerate) and by De Beers. Throughout its 16-year life, AAV achieved exceptional returns, and Dr. Tolkowsky led several of the Fund's highly successful investments.

Gideon holds a BSc. Degree in aeronautical engineering from the Technion, Israel Institute of Technology, where he later served on the school's Board of Governors. He has an MBA degree from Wharton where he has served on the School's International Executive Board for Europe Middle East and Africa. Gideon also has a Ph.D. degree in history and philosophy of technology and has published a book. Gideon served as a fighter pilot in the Israel Air Force for 27 years and held the rank of Major (Ret.) In 2006 Dr. Tolkowsky retired from Veritas to pursue his private venture capital business via his company BME Capital Management Ltd. Gideon is also co-founder of Crystal Beam Melodies Ltd. A start-up that attempts to commercialize a novel technology for producing music from diamonds (giving each diamond a "musical fingerprint" to enhance the emotional value of owning the diamond)
