Officer Prof. Gunter Dueck is a philosopher, mathematician, writer, management expert and lateral thinker. Until 2011 he was a recognized engineer at IBM and in recent years he was a chef technician at IBM Germany. Currently, he is a freelance writer and business angel. Prof. Dueck publishes satirical-philosophical books on life, people and
managers. For his book Learn Brain Management Success and Efficiency by Zero Intelligence, he received the Wirtschaftsbuchpreis 2006 from the Financial Times Deutschland. Prior to joining IBM, Prof. Dueck was Professor of Mathematics at the University of Bielefeld. His research areas were: information theory, combinatorics, optimization and management theories. In 1990, he received the IEEE Information Therory Society Prize Paper Award for a new theory of news identification. At IBM Central Europe, he founded the data warhouse service business and worked for several years on IBM's strategic and cultural change. In 2009 and 2010 he was responsible for Dynamic Infrastructure and Cloud Computing at IBM Germany. He is an IEEE fellow and a member of the Academy of Sciences in Göttingen. His highly interdisciplinary and entertaining presentations make him a sought-after speaker at national and international forums.
