Ian Bruce is the founder of Venture Vehicles, an innovative, environmentally-friendly personal transportation company based in Los Angeles, California. The Company’s first vehicle is a revolutionary, two-passenger, three-wheeled, tilting (articulating) vehicle, powered by a highly fuel efficient hybrid propulsion system that that delivers over
100 miles per gallon of gasoline.
Since leaving New York’s Parsons School of Design, Ian has been employed as an art director for COMDEX, the largest producer of computer conferences and trade expositions; owner of Deadline Design in Boston, MA; and founding partner at Digital Graphics Corp, and its spin-off, Island Software, in Trinidad, West Indies.
After returning to the United States in 1991, Ian worked with Solutions Group as an Art and Creative Director in New York; during which time he developed promotional and marketing programs for such clients as Sony Corporation of America, Volvo Motorcars of North America, Minolta, and Digital Equipment Corporation.
In 1999, Ian worked with IBM’s Almaden Research Center, and Indiana University, on the WorldBoard Project, which integrates the Internet, wearable displays, high-resolution positioning, co-registered data, and other immersive technologies. Ian’s role in WorldBoard was a result of his patents in immersive micro-optical display systems, which were subsequently prototyped by United Technologies Adaptive Optics division in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
Ian has been a keynote presenter at interactive technology conferences on the subject of human interface design, and has been a key speaker on advanced transportation solutions, and social entrepreneurship at venues ranging from UCLA, to the Corning Transportation Futures Workshop in New York.
