Dr. James Biard is a co-founder of DxUpClose and one of the inventors responsible for creating the company’s diagnostic sensor.
Currently on the staff of Texas A&M University as an Adjunct Professor of Electrical Engineering, Dr. Biard holds 76 U.S. and foreign patents.
Dr. Biard launched Texas Instrument’s transistor business in the
1960’s with his invention of the Schottky transistor.
Following his work at Texas Instruments, he co-invented Light Emitting Diode (LED) and MOS ROM technology, and participated in the launch of two companies, Spectronics (acquired by Honeywell) and Finisar.
He also served as Chief Scientist for Micro Switches and Optoelectronics at Honeywell, Inc.
Dr. Biard holds BS, MS and Ph.D. degrees in Electrical Engineering from Texas A&M University.
