James Brailean is a co-founder and managing partner at Karmel Capital, a venture capital firm specialized in startups and growth capital. Previously, he co-founded two companies such as Burl Concepts and PacketVideo, and held various leadership roles in both companies.
Prior to co-founding Concepts and PacketVideo, Brailean served as the chief
executive officer of NextWave. He was also a member of the board of directors at MicroPower Technologies as well as Sonic Solutions.
Brailean holds a master’s degree in electrical and electronics engineering from the University of Southern California and a PhD in electrical engineering from Northwestern University.
