James C. Clemmer is President of the Medical Supplies business segment of Covidien plc, a position he has held since September 2006.
In this position, Mr. Clemmer directs strategic and day-to-day operations of the Nursing Care, Medical Surgical, SharpSafety and OEM product lines. In addition, he oversees fifteen manufacturing locations and the
research and development, operational excellence and Six Sigma projects associated with the Medical Supplies business.
After joining Covidien (formerly known as Tyco Healthcare) as part of the Sage Product acquisition in 1999, Mr. Clemmer held several increasingly senior roles in marketing and general management at Kendall and at the SharpSafety and Critical Care divisions.
Mr. Clemmer began his career in the medical devices industry in 1989, working for Sage Products, Inc.
He is a graduate of North Adams State College, which is now the Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts, where he serves on the Board of Trustees.
