Jim is responsible for setting and leading the clinical and medical direction of the company.
Jim is a leading surgeon, educator, and researcher in the field of Orthopedics. He is the William H. and Johanna A. Harris Professor of Orthopedic Surgery at Harvard Medical School and is a practicing physician at Massachusetts General Hospital and
Partners Healthcare in Boston. Jim has published more than 200 peer-reviewed journal articles, five books, and 30 book chapters and is a frequent speaker at leading medical conferences around the world.
Jim’s experience and medical career spans over four decades. He received his M.D. from UCLA and completed his orthopedic residency at Children’s Hospital and Mass General Hospital in Boston.
Jim then served as a Major in the U.S. Army and was the Chief of the Amputee Service at Valley Forge General Hospital in Pennsylvania. He went on to complete a fellowship in reconstructive hand surgery at Roosevelt Hospital in New York City.
Jim has the unique distinction of having served as President of all major Orthopedic Societies: American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, American Board of Orthopedic Surgery, and the American Orthopedic Association.
He has also served as the chairman of the Residency Review Committee for Orthopedic Surgery.
