Jamie Bianchini is the CEO and co-founder of LuDela, PBC
Jamie survived a terrifying candle fire while traveling in West Africa in 2007. He fell asleep with a candle burning and woke up with flames surrounding his bed at a guesthouse. Luckily nobody was injured. This experience inspired the patented innovation called LuDela, which used
technology to help solve this 5,000-year-old problem with real flame candlelight. LuDela is the world's first and only real flame smart candle that allows users to enjoy real flame candlelight at the touch of a button. Not to be confused with the many artificial flame LED candles on the market, LuDela is a pillar candle that uses real wax and lights a real live flame with remote control, or even using your voice. Various safety features reduce fire risk including sensors to extinguish the flame when it tips, falls, or at the end of a chosen timer.
LuDela was a pending B-Corp Public Benefit Corporation from 2015 to 2019 with a mission to deliver Better Light, Better Lives. LuDela committed a book for every candle sold to bring libraries to underserved communities. In 2019 Ludela helped deliver enough books to fund four libraries in Uganda before being acquired by a leader in candle technologies. LuDela PBC was renamed LuDela Technolgoies, LLC and has a new headquarters in Brea, CA with the L&L candle brands. Jamie stepped down as CEO and is not Chief Visionary Officer while also helping start his next social venture Purpose In Expenses, or PIE.
