Dr. Jason Hanft is the President and co-founder of Hansen Pharmaceutical. Dr. Hanft has 30 years of clinical research and practice experience in wound care. He has worked on every significant clinical trial in the wound care space over the past 20 years, participating as an investigator in nearly 70 separate projects.
Dr. Hanft is the Director of
the Doctors Research Network and practices at The Foot & Ankle Institute of South Florida in South Miami, FL. He founded Defender Operations, which develops and markets the Defender line of products to offload and protect at-risk limbs and manage foot pain. He owns several U.S. and international patents and trademarks. Dr. Hanft is recognized as a key opinion leader in wound care. He is an adjunct professor at several institutions, is a frequent lecturer, and has authored over 50 peer-reviewed journal publications, as well as multiple book chapters.
Dr. Hanft graduated from the Illinois College of Podiatric Medicine in 1988. He completed his residency in foot and ankle surgery at Larkin General Hospital in South Miami, FL, in 1990. He completed training in management of the neuropathic limbs at the G. Long Hansen’s Disease Center in Carville, LA, in 1990 . Dr. Hanft has also completed the AO/ASIF Fellowship in St. Gallan, Switzerland, focusing on trauma and osteosynthesis in 1991.
