Jeffrey Harmening is the Chairman and CEO of General Mills. As chief operating officer of U.S. retail, Jeff Harmening has corporate oversight of the Baking, Cereal, Meals, Snacks and Yogurt divisions.
Previously, Harmening was chief executive officer of Cereal Partners Worldwide (CPW) – the company's joint venture with Nestlé and
headquartered in Lausanne, Switzerland. In that role, he was responsible for a nearly $2 billion global cereal business that distributes to more than 130 countries outside of North America.
He began oversight of CPW in July 2012.
Harmening was named president of General Mills’ Big G cereal division in June 2007. Before that, he served as vice president of marketing for CPW. In that role, Harmening led CPW’s marketing strategy and activity in markets worldwide.
In 2004, he was promoted to vice president of the company while at CPW, and promoted to senior vice president in April 2011, when he served as president of Big G cereals.
Prior to his marketing role with CPW, Harmening led Big G New Enterprises, where he successfully launched Berry Burst Cheerios.
