Mr. Joe Brotherton, J.D., CPA is Professor of Law and Ethics at the University of Washington. Mr. Brotherton has taught most of the last 25 years at University of Washington Business and Law schools. He is a Seattle Based Attorney. He is also a successful entrepreneur across multiple fronts and was named one of Seattle’s “Most Influential” business
leaders. He is one of the leading investors and thought leaders in the Northwest bringing decades of experience in the technology, legal and investor community. He serves as Chairman of Democracy Live, Inc. Mr. Brotherton has served on many corporate and philanthropic Boards and is the current President of the Attorney-CPA Foundation, past-chairman and current Trustee of Cornish College of the Arts, past President of the University of Washington Law School Foundation and Trustee of the Foster School ADF board. He started his career as a computer programmer and systems designer in the 1970’s and thus has long-standing technological experience, having the rise of the computer and Internet age. He is teaching at the UW School of Law. In addition, he has taught at Seattle University, Cornish College (Ethics and Law for the Practicing Artist) and combining his interests in education and prison reform, at the University Behind Bars at the penitentiary in Monroe. He is a graduate of the University of Washington Business and Law schools.
