I am founder and CEO of EdgeTheory which I launched in 2013 with Jim Barksdale (CEO Netscape). EdgeTheory’s technology combines human and artificial intelligence so organizations can understand and leverage the conversations that shape their world. Our enterprise customers range from large corporations such as the Mayo Clinic to government
agencies.
Our consumer product Soundboard is used by over 20,000 business professionals and SMBs. Soundboard provides users real time conversation trend intelligence to better understand the conversations around their customers and industries. Soundboard also provides users atomic content including suggested messaging in order to connect, engage and drive more business with customers.
I began my career as a CPA with Arthur Andersen. My first assignment was in Budapest, Hungary, where I performed business valuations to support the privatization effort of former “Iron Curtain” countries. I eventually transferred to Arthur Andersen Business Consulting in Dallas where I supported major telecommunications clients such as GTE and MCIWorldCom.
In October of 1998, I co-founded Musicforce.com in Dallas, one of the Internet’s first retailers focusing on selling music online. In July 1999, Gaylord Entertainment (NYSE “GET”) purchased a controlling interest in Musicforce.com at a valuation of $30 Million, a 15x return to our investors. As Gaylord Digital’s VP of Strategic Development, I was responsible for all business opportunity development for the company including investments, acquisitions, strategic partnerships and new-market development. In March 2001, I put my career experience with the formation of Exposition Ventures. EXV provided a broad range of business development and social media consulting to clients such as Viking Range Corporation and Match.com until founding EdgeTheory in 2013.
