Carter is currently a principal at TCGen, which is a management consulting and advisory services firm that Carter founded in 2002 and is located in Menlo Park, Calif. Between November 2007 and January 2008, Carter was an executive in residence at Vantage Point Venture Partners, a venture capital firm in San Bruno, Calif., where he assisted in the
management of several portfolio companies.
Carter also served as chief technical officer at Klipsch Group, a manufacturer of speakers in Indianapolis, between February 2005 and October 2007. Carter began his career as an engineer at Bose Corporation in 1978, later becoming its Chief Engineer.
Carter holds a bachelor of science in engineering from Harvey Mudd College in Claremont, Calif., and a master’s in electrical engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
