Mr. John H. Pontius, CPA, serves as the President of Pittco Capital Partners and Pittco Management, LLC. Mr. Pontius co-founded Pittco Management. In 1991 he joined AutoZone as a special assistant to Founder, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Pitt Hyde. His responsibilities for investment, family business and philanthropic management led to the
formation in 1998, with Mr. Hyde, of Pittco Management, LLC where he is President. He serves as a Partner of SWH Residential Partners, LLC. From 1986 to 1991, he served as the Chief Financial Officer and Director of Finance and Administration at the City of Memphis.
He started his career at the international accounting firm of Coopers & Lybrand (now PriceWaterhouseCoopers) where he completed his requirements as a CPA and was promoted to the level of audit manager. After several years as an audit manager, Mr. Pontius pursued a career in financial management, ultimately becoming the Director of Finance and Administration for the City of Memphis.
He serves as a Director of Innova Memphis Inc. He has been a Member of the Board of Trustees of University of Tennessee-Knoxville since 2002. He served as a Director of GTx Inc. from April 1999 to August 3, 2011.
