John Schultz has proven that maintenance and reliability can be a highly profitable investment, and not just a cost. During the last 2+ decades, he has helped over 300 manufacturing locations save millions in direct costs while increasing production, improving quality, and reducing inventories and has personally benchmarked over 1,000 locations.
Additionally, John developed and trademarked the use of Process Weibull to calculate the Reliability Index, the most efficient way to quantify the hidden plant. After helping Eli Lilly & Company develop one of the best reliability programs in North America, John co-founded Allied Services Group in 1997, now called Allied Reliability Group (ARG). He successfully led ARG to become a recognized industry-leading company that offers a complete solution of services and products utilizing a robust “Do-Teach-Find” deployment model that is enabled by our Reliability Management System, iReliability™. Most recently, John was instrumental in merging ARG with T.F. Hudgins, a Houston, TX based company founded in 1947 that provides a portfolio of engineered products and services that improve the reliability of high-value equipment. Serving as Executive Vice President of Reliability Solutions, he is responsible for the development and enhancement of key technologies needed to effectively execute the combined company’s reliability-centered growth strategy. John holds Bachelor’s degrees in Mechanical Engineering and Economics from Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology. He is a Certified Maintenance and Reliability Professional (CMRP) through the Society for Maintenance and Reliability Professionals (SMRP). In addition, John has completed the training and testing/certifications for Level II or III in most Predictive Maintenance (PdM) technologies. He also has extensive experience in Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) and Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), and he is an instructor and facilitator in three RCM methodologies, as well as an instructor and facilitator in RCA Cause Mapping, Logic Tree, and 5 Why. Further, John has completed detailed studies on Statistical Process Control and Six Sigma at the University of Tennessee and has attained Black Belt Status.
