John Stobo John is a Managing General Partner at ABS Capital Partners, where he oversees healthcare investing efforts with a focus on healthcare services and healthcare information technology companies. During his time with the firm, he has developed significant domain expertise that he uses to help companies identify and address issues, and
capitalize on their most compelling opportunities to be successful.
Since joining ABS Capital in 1993, John has been involved in over 20 portfolio company investments for the firm through periods of dramatic change and regulatory shift. John has been able to effectively leverage his health care sector understanding and his business network to help companies recruit board members and executives, think about their competitive landscape, hone their business models, and ultimately position themselves for an exit.
Prior to joining ABS Capital, John worked in Alex. Brown's Health Care Investment Banking Group where he advised clients on public offerings and M&A strategies. John joined the Athletes’ Performance Board of Directors in 2012. He concurrently serves on the boards of Avalere Health, Inc., Pathology Inc., and SourceMedical Solutions Inc.
His former board memberships include American Esoteric Laboratories, Inc., CBR Systems, Inc., Omnicell, Inc. (NASDAQ: OMCL), Superior Vision Services, Inc., and US LABS.
John has a Bachelor of Arts in management science from the University of California, San Diego, and a Master of Business Administration in finance from Cornell University.
