John, a Columbia native, is a proud graduate of Hickman High School, Jeff Jr., and Russell Elementary. He has a law degree from Yale Law School (2005) and a B.A. in Economics from Yale College (1998), where he graduated with the highest grade point average in the Yale Class of 1998. During summers in law school and college, he worked in the
Missouri Governor’s Office and State Treasurer’s office in Jefferson City. While at Hickman, John served as Student Body President, captain of the 1994 Hickman State Champion tennis team, and a U.S. Presidential Scholar.
John will be teaching as a visiting scholar at the University of Missouri School of Business in the Fall of 2012. He previously founded and managed Rollins Capital, a partnership dedicated to investing in growth companies across a diverse set of industries. He is also the founder of The Rollins Reading Company, a non-profit organization dedicated to developing and funding programs that promote early childhood literacy in mid-Missouri in partnership with the Columbia Public Schools. He has served on the Advisory Boards of Jumpstart, a national organization dedicated to early childhood literacy, as well as the Infrastructure, Safety, and Environment division of RAND, a non-partisan public policy research organization.
John’s family has been active in public and community service in central Missouri for many years. His mother, Sarah Riddick, taught English at Hickman High School from the late 1980s through the early 2000s. His dad, John Riddick, serves on the boards of the Columbia Regional Airport Advisory Board, PedNet Coalition of Columbia, and Missouri State Parks Foundation. His grandfather, Jackson Wright, served as General Counsel at the University of Missouri from the 1960s-1980s and as President of the Missouri Bar in 1961-1962.
