Jong-Wha Lee is a professor of economics at Korea University. He is also an adjunct professor in the economics division of the Australian National University. Lee is a senior advisor for international economy to the President of the Republic of Korea and a G20 Sherpa.
Previously, Lee was the chief economist and the acting chief economist at the
Asian Development Bank from 2008 to 2010 and head of the Office of Regional Economic Integration from 2007 to 2010.
At Korea University, Professor Lee was director of the International Center for Korean Studies from 2003 to 2007; a visiting professor at Harvard University; and an associate at the Harvard Institute for International Development. From September 1992 to April 1993, Professor Lee worked as an economist in the Research Department of the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
Professor Lee has received numerous awards, honors, and grants, including a Distinguished Scholar Fellowship from the Korea Research Foundation, a Bradley Fellowship in 2006, and the Best Teacher Award at Korea University in 2003, 2004, 2005, and 2006.
Lee has authored or co-authored numerous articles and books, including Rebalancing for Sustainable Growth.
Jong-Wha Lee has Master of Arts and doctorate degrees in economics from Harvard University and a Master of Arts degree in economics from Korea University.
