Josh is the President of Tilson and an IT leadership and project management consultant. As President, Josh is responsible for strategy, leadership, and business development across the Tilson family of companies. Utilizing his strong technical, leadership, and management background, Josh is good at overcoming project inertia and completing projects
in difficult organizational environments.
As a Tilson Consultant, Josh has served as an IT director and CIO for hire, consulted on banking, biotechnology, engineering, marine science, and construction IT projects, and leads our utilities consulting team, focusing on telecommunications infrastructure projects. Prior to joining the Tilson team, Josh served as an Army communications officer, managing the network operations center that controlled the government communications network in Central Asia.
He serves on the Boards of Directors of the Gulf of Maine Research Institute and HealthInfoNet. He received a gubernatorial appointment to the Advisory Council of the ConnectME Authority.
The youngest ever recipient of the Portland Regional Chamber of Commerce's President's Award, Josh is one of four business leaders recognized by the Chamber in 2011. In October of 2011, he was named to the Mainebiz Next List.
He was recently named to MaineTodayMedia's inaugural Forty Under 40 list, recognizing forty up and coming leaders in the state of Maine under the age of 40. Under his leadership, Tilson was awarded the 2010 Governor's Award as Technology Company of the Year from TechMaine, an award recognizing a Maine company that significantly contributes to Maine's position as a cutting-edge technology state.
In 2009, he was named CxO of the Year by TechMaine, recognized for his visionary leadership, strategy, and business development as Tilson's President.
