Josh Harris is an investor and business leader with over three decades of experience in alternative investments, sports, and philanthropy.
He is the Founder of 26North, a next-generation multi-asset alternatives platform focused on delivering strong risk-adjusted returns. 26North takes a partnership-first approach, investing flexibly across asset
classes and capital structures, with an initial emphasis on private equity, credit, and insurance solutions.
Before launching 26North, Josh co-founded Apollo Global Management and played a pivotal role in growing it into one of the world’s leading alternative investment firms and a major force in alternative credit.
Beyond investing, Josh is deeply involved in the sports and entertainment industry. He is the Founder and Managing General Partner of Harris Blitzer Sports & Entertainment (HBSE), which owns and operates premier franchises, including the Philadelphia 76ers and New Jersey Devils. Additionally, he serves as Managing Partner for both teams as well as for the Washington Commanders.
Through his platform and Harris Philanthropies, Josh is dedicated to leveraging a combination of philanthropy and impact investing to drive positive change in communities he is connected to. His initiatives focus on supporting underserved youth through sports and education, advancing equity and sustainable wealth creation, and improving health and educational outcomes.
Josh holds an MBA from Harvard Business School, where he was recognized as a Baker Loeb Scholar, and graduated summa cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School with a B.S. in Economics. He serves on the boards of Harvard Business School, the Wharton School, the NBA, and the NHL.
Josh and his wife, Marjorie, have been married since 1996 and have five children.
