Joshua is a regularly featured speaker and panelist on technology and entrepreneurship in Africa and emerging markets. He serves as an advisor to a number of organizations, including Tanzania's Commission for Science and Technology, and as a technology advisor to US Senator Angus King (Independent-Maine).
Previously, Joshua co-founded
non-profit Envaya, whose software platform for grassroots NGOs in East Africa is now the largest online network of civil society organizations in the region. Prior to that, Joshua served as a Peace Corps volunteer in Tanzania, where he focused on developing local ICT (Information and Communications Technology) skills and infrastructure. Joshua was also senior engineer at a technology startup acquired by Google.Joshua has a B.S. in Computer Science from Stanford University, and is fluent in Kiswahili.
