Dr. Kamal Hadidi received his Ph.D. in 1992 in electrical engineering from University of Pierre et Marie Curie in Paris, France. He then joined the MIT Plasma Science and Fusion Center as a research scientist in 1995, where he spent 12 years developing a variety of plasma-based technologies for many industrial applications.
Dr. Hadidi was
instrumental in conducting basic research, but also in developing pilot systems for most of the projects he worked on. He worked on the electron-beam generated plasma for volatile organic compounds, microwave atomic emissions monitor for heavy metals monitoring, and hydrocarbon reforming for on-board vehicle generation of hydrogen, among other things. The two first projects were successfully field-tested at the pilot scale level at the DOE's Hanford Site in Richland, Washington, and at the EPA laboratory in Research Triangle Park, North Carolina, respectively.
