Kari has 20+ years of expertise in the field of transportation engineering, AI, product development and decades of hands on software development experience. As a former student and researcher of the Helsinki University of Technology, now Aalto University, he studied algorithms, traffic safety, simulation and software development. As part of his
Master’s thesis he developed a Microscopic Simulator for Personal Rapid Transit (PRT) System, an automated public transport solution. Kari also studied at the Royal Institute of Technology (Stockholm), providing him with a unique perspective on the European Union’s leading-edge approach to transportation and mobility. In addition to the research and software development work completed in Helsinki and Stockholm Kari’s expertise also includes applying soft computing and AI traffic control to live traffic environments in Finland, Sweden, Ireland and the U.S.
Before joining Hannah Systems Kari has worked as CTO at RSM Ltd. managing technical development of building leading edge traffic modeling and management system Simon. Kari’s work in academia combined with AI expertise makes him one of a few global professionals with expertise on soft computing, applied artificial intelligence, traffic engineering and traffic related software development.
Within Hannah Systems Kari brings his expertise in building software solutions for solving challenges of connected vehicles and automated vehicles of future road users.
