Kell has worked in the NYC creative industry for nearly two decades and has been an avid community builder and creative visionary both online and off.
Kell has written for Vogue, interviewing her hero, photographer Joan
E. Biren. In 2018 Personals (now Lex) was profiled in The New York Times.
In 2014 her Instagram Herstory posted a 1970s photo of a woman wearing a t-shirt reading The Future is Female, thrusting the phrase into popular culture.
Her previous lives include photo director at the design magazine Metropolis, and co-founder of the textile studio New Friends. Kell believes the Future is Queer.
Her favorite place on earth is Fire Island, NY. She enjoys jogging in parks and long walks with her pup Mishka. Kell keeps a scrapbook of Instamax pics documenting her life, friends, work, and loves.
