Ken Mabbs is a founding member of FA Technology Ventures. Mabbs brings over 23 years of diversified corporate finance and investment management experience to the Fund.
Mabbs served as Director of Corporate Investment Banking at First Albany since joining the firm in 1991 until January 2000. Over the last five years, Mabbs was involved in most
of the merchant banking activities at the firm as well.
Prior to joining First Albany, he was a senior investment banker at Bear, Stearns & Co. in New York and Boston, focusing on financing transactions and strategic advisory work for emerging growth and technology companies. Ken Mabbs has completed over 250 investment banking transactions in a broad range of deal types, including leveraged buyouts, strategic mergers, joint ventures, private placements, venture capital, and public equity and debt financings.
He has acted individually as a principal in acquisitions and has represented Bear Stearns and First Albany as an acquirer in its merchant banking activity. Mabbs serves on the Board of Directors of E Ink Corporation and Knoa Software and also is a Board Observer of A123 Systems.
Ken Mabbs earned his BA from Denison University and an MBA from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
