Kimberly Carney is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Wire Holdings, Inc., the parent company of FashWire and GlossWire: Two innovative, B2B2C discovery and shopping global marketplaces.
With over 20 years of experience in marketing leadership for wireless and tech companies and 16+ years owning a contemporary fashion boutique in the
multi-brand retail space, Kimberly saw early on that the fashion industry could not survive without adapting to tech. This drive to bridge the connection between technology, consumers and brands was the catalyst for Kimberly to launch FashWire. Kimberly combined her previous experience in mobile and tech with her fashion knowledge and retail experience to develop a platform where emerging and established brands could co-exist in one space, providing valuable data for the industry as a whole. FashWire launched in 2018 with a Google partnership.
Under Kimberly’s leadership, FashWire has grown from 25 U.S. brands at launch to now over 400 brands from 46 countries. A two-sided marketplace, FashWire’s high-growth platform is redefining the way emerging and established fashion brands interact with the consumer by leveraging technology to provide consumers an opportunity to discover brands and trends while giving critical real-time data and consumer feedback to the brands. This interactive digital connection between the brand and consumer helps brands create more relevant and sustainable products that consumers want to purchase, driving loyalty and bottom-line growth.
Kimberly and FashWire have won several awards including International Trade Council’s Women in Business First Place Award; Supply & Demand Executives Women in Supply Chain Award; Fashion Group International’s (FGI) Rising Star Award for New Retail Concept; and most recently Glossy’s 2022 Fashion Award for Best Fashion Marketplace. In 2020, Kimberly also added a philanthropic arm by leveraging the companies vast global reach of brands and consumers to raise funds for charitable causes – having now raised 100K+ for nonprofits.
In addition to disrupting the fashion space, Carney launched into the beauty and grooming space in early 2021 with GlossWire. GlossWire integrates the same data-driven technology and has quickly become the go-to platform in the beauty industry for an engaged, sustainable, and inclusive shopping experience between brands and consumers. In just a little over a year after launching, GlossWire has broken barriers accelerating from 50 brands to over 200 beauty brands and has received industry accolades from Unilever, FGI and Glossy.
In September 2022, Carney is also launching CasaWire with the same compelling platform catering to the home and décor $700B global market, with a back-door wholesale B2B addition between manufacturers, interior designers and brands. CasaWire has already onboarded more than 60 brands in its beta and anticipates 100+ brands at launch.
Kimberly is a rare mix of retail and tech with an entrepreneurial spirit. She has an innate talent to identify market needs and delivers through passion, vision, drive and authenticity. Simply put, she is a trailblazer within the retail digital sector. Kimberly sits on the Board of Gifting Brands and has been recognized by New York Fashion Tech Lab as an industry expert and Authority Magazine as a female disruptor in technology.
