Founder of a scalable AI platform startup called TieSet, Inc. where he first created a federated learning platform that is now evolving into an intelligence-centric platform called STADLE: scalable traceable adaptive distributed learning platform. He is leading world-class R&D and global business teams who are passionate about solving one of
the world’s most challenging but important problems in technology, business, and society.
Besides being an entrepreneur, he is leading the field of federated learning and serves as the first book author in the US about the federated learning technology published by Packt.
He was previously a research scientist at NEC Labs, renowned AI research labs previously led by famous AI scientists like Turing Award recipients. There he created the world’s first Blockchain based Aggregator-Free Federated Learning (BAFFLE) platform with an AI infrastructure team. He also worked on cutting-edge scalable distributed computer vision systems in the media analytics department.
In the PhD at UC Irvine, he researched distributed systems and optimization, graph theory and algorithms, and a smart energy control framework, and received two Best Paper Awards.
