With over ten years of professional Creative, Brand and Marketing experience, Kurt has made a career out of bringing simple, innovative solutions to complicated problems. Much of his impact comes from a sensitivity to how creativity and design merge to impact and drive business. He is currently bringing these insights into Andtix, a company on a
mission to simplifying the way in which people get into something.
Prior to co-founding Andtix, Kurt served as Creative Director at Findaway World, inventors of Playaway®, the world’s first pre-loaded digital audiobook (www.playaway.com). Called a “genius idea” by Oprah Magazine and the “simplest way to get from the bookstore to Chapter One” by the New York Times, Kurt helped to drive Findaway World from a start-up idea to a profitable, Inc 500 success four years straight. In his six year tenure, he led a talented team of designers executing creative initiatives ranging from brand development and product and package design, to advertising campaigns and internal culture reinforcement.
While at Findaway World he co-founded Thunk, a start-up dedicated to designing products that meet the increasing demands of the mobile consumer in the Summer of 2009. In just seven months, Thunk ideated, designed, manufactured and marketed Appstand™, their first consumer product. In a matter of one year, Appstand went from a simple sketch to a product featured in the New York Times, Engadget and Herman Miller with distribution across the globe.
Kurt has always believed that creative individuals are the athletes of the professional world. Their enthusiasm and perspective propel them with a contagious energy that makes others around them better. It is this mindset that has driven him throughout his personal life and career.
Kurt and his wife, Heather Ann, not only share backgrounds in Graphic Design, but also a love for cooking, music and healthy living.
