Kyle Laughlin brings nearly 20 years of experience in the technology, media, and entertainment industries to The Walt Disney Company.
Laughlin is the senior vice president of Disney Consumer Products Interactive Labs (DCPI Labs) and currently serves as an executive producer on the muppets, a new primetime television series on ABC. He also leads
a team devoted to innovation and the creation of next-generation digital content and products that extend Muppet stories and characters on all digital platforms and devices.
With DCPI Labs’ focus on new media platforms, digital content, and building new audiences for Disney’s portfolio of stories and characters, it has become home to The Muppets Studio where the team expanded the franchise and its content beyond films to digital platforms, short-form content, television, and additional promotional opportunities that draw new audiences to the beloved characters.
Prior to joining Disney Interactive in 2011, Laughlin served as general manager for Yahoo Sports & Games, where he led all programming, content, and business strategies. He oversaw production of the Yahoo Sports Minute, Fantasy Football Live, and Plugged In digital video series. Laughlin joined Yahoo in 2007 and quickly rose to the top leadership position for the business unit from director of product management for Yahoo Games. As the product lead, he developed a unified casual and videogame product organization, growing the audience, and improving monetization of its existing interactive products.
Before Yahoo, Laughlin held several positions with top technology companies and consultancies.
A Chicago native, Laughlin graduated from the University of Arizona with a Bachelor of Science degree in Management Information Systems. He currently resides in Los Angeles.
