Laith Alkhouri is a co-founder and the Director of Research & Analysis for the Middle East and North Africa at Flashpoint. Mr. Alkhouri, a native Arabic speaker and regular on-air analyst for NBC, supports law enforcement and other government clients on national security investigations.He directs Flashpoint’s Jihadist Threat Intelligence
service and serves as the lead on all primary-source research into Deep and Dark Web networks used by terrorist groups and their supporters.
Mr. Alkhouri brings an in-depth understanding of how terrorist networks operate on the Internet, informing our engineering team of emerging communication platforms and procedures used to evade detection. In this capacity, Mr. Alkhouri has also presented his findings to audiences at the State Department, Department of Justice, House Committee on Homeland Security, and the Council on Foreign Relations, among others.
Mr. Alkhouri’s analysis and commentary are frequently cited in The New York Times, BBC, Reuters, CNN, and The Daily Beast. Mr. Alkhouri holds an MS in International Affairs with a concentration on International Conflict and Security from The New School University and a BA in Political Science from Manhattanville College.
