Lance has lived in Austin most of his life. He has Materials Science & Engineering business degrees from MIT and The University of Texas as well as a Masters in Science & Technology Commercialization from The University of Texas McCombs School of Business.
Lance began his career with IBM, and then became the CEO for Sign Builders of
Texas, Executive Director for Electronic Billboard Technologies, and CEO of the technology start-ups Benerus Technologies and Sigma Imaging. He has also been the Central & South Texas Area Manager for the consulting company Expense Reduction Analysts and has done IT systems implementation consulting. Lance is an active real estate investor as well, having done real estate deals in Austin for the last 20 years.
Lance was a member of the Central Texas Regional Center for Innovation and Commercialization selection committee for the Texas Emerging Technology Fund. He has mentored start-ups for the World’s Best Technologies conferences and the Development Capital Network NSF / SBIR program as well as numerous CTAN companies. Lance joined the Central Texas Angel Network as one of the original members in 2006 and has personally invested in more than ten start-ups.
