Marcus Meadows-Smith is an accomplished executive, having most recently turned around the biopesticide business AgraQuest Inc., over a five year time frame culminating in that company being acquired by Bayer CropScience for nearly $500 million. Marcus has experience of selecting and leading a team of commercial executives and high calibre
scientists essential for the success of a biotechnology enterprise.
Marcus began his career at the global trading company Sumitomo Corporation where he was Marketing Manager for Crop Protection Products and Public Health Pesticides Division, based out of London, United Kingdom. From there he moved to Uniroyal Chemical, enjoying a 14-year career in increasingly senior positions in Europe, before transferring to The United States as the company grew to become Chemtura Corporation, and where he ultimately served as Executive Vice President in charge of a $1.9 billion portfolio of businesses including the Crop Protection, Consumer Products, and Plastics Additives divisions.
Marcus holds a degree in Biological Sciences, Genetics from the University of Birmingham, United Kingdom. He is a graduate of Harvard Business School’s Advanced Management Program.
