Mark Mersman is co-founder and CEO of Legacy Income Properties and its institutional-focused sister company, Unity Resources. He is responsible for overseeing prospect generation and is heavily involved with all due diligence on prospective royalty purchases. Under his leadership, the companies have made over 100 acquisitions with a gross exposure
to over 100,000 net mineral acres across shale basins throughout the United States. He has been involved with over $20 million worth of acquisitions and divestitures and is responsible for maximizing overall fund performance, which may include targeted divestitures as opportunities arise.
As a member of the National Association of Royalty Owners (NARO) and the Louisiana Oil & Gas Association (LOGA), Mr. Mersman stays on top of the issues that the energy industry faces. He has also been a part of several oil and gas energy panels.
In addition to his ownership position with Legacy, Mr. Mersman is president of a private wealth advisory firm, providing portfolio management for high net worth individuals and has been responsible for the acquisition and management of over $300 million during his career. His experience with portfolio management provides a unique ability to evaluate and manage the appropriate mix of royalties/minerals in a portfolio.
Mr. Mersman is a graduate of the University of Arkansas, with a B.S.B.A. in Marketing. Mr. Mersman held FINRA licenses 7, 63, and 65, and held the designation of Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor.
