Mark Rus is a globally experienced life sciences leader and executive. Mark possesses a Master's of Science in Political Economics from the London School of Economics, and a Combined BA (Hons.) in Political Science & International Comparative Studies from the University of Western Ontario.
Mark Rus is currently the Chief Executive
Officer of Delix Therapeutics, a CNS-focused drug discovery company. Mark Rus most recently was an Entrepreneur-in-Residence at Atlas Venture. Mark also served as the Group Vice President (Neuroscience) of Shire Pharmaceuticals. He led a team of US-based direct and over 600 indirect employees. Mark was responsible for growing Shire's +$2.5B Neuroscience business through strategic, operational, and tactical neuroscience commercial strategy across US and global markets. Mark also spent time earlier in his career in Canadian Federal Politics. He served for several years as a policy advisor, speechwriter, and member of the Canadian Minister of State's staff, as well as on the Prime Minister of Canada's Federal Election Campaign Team.
In addition to his professional career, Mark was selected by the Embassy of the United States of America for participation in the Department of State/Fulbright International Leadership Program. He was also recently nominated by Pharmaceutical Executive Magazine in 2017 as one of the top Emerging Leaders in the life sciences.
