Mark Thompson has more than 20 years’ experience in photonic and quantum technologies. He holds a PhD in Electrical Engineering from the University of Cambridge and a Master degree in Physics from the University of Sheffield. Prior to joining PsiQuantum, Mark held positions at Corning, Bookham Technology, and Toshiba, in addition to faculty
positions at Cambridge University and Bristol University. He established and was Director of the Bristol Quantum Engineering Centre for Doctoral Training (QECDT), the Bristol Quantum Technology Enterprise Center (QuTEC) and QETlabs and has been awarded prestigious UK and European fellowships and prizes. Mark has more than 100 publications and patents and has founded two startup companies in the area of quantum technologies.
