Martin Kaplan was elected Chairman of the Board of Directors in October 2010. Martin joined STI's Board of Directors in December 2002, having served as a Director of Conductus, Inc. since 1996.
From 1986 to 1997, Martin was Executive Vice President of Pacific Bell and President of Network Services. Earlier in his career he was the Finance
Director for Pacific Bell. Within the past five years,
Martin also serves on the board of directors of Superconductor Technologies. Kaplan is a Director and non-executive Chairman of JDS Uniphase and a Director of Tekelec, Actelis Networks, Bevocal, and Entrisphere.
Martin earned a B.S. in engineering from the California Institute of Technology.
