With Matt’s experiences ranging from a small family farm/ranch upbringing to a nationwide M&A legal practice, few others have had the breadth of consulting and leadership experiences that Matt has. After graduating with a Business Management degree from BYU, Matt went on to obtain a law degree from William and Mary Law School, graduating
with distinction.
In the years that followed, Matt worked for two of the largest law firms based in the Rocky Mountains as a corporate, M&A and real estate transactional attorney, all while consulting a handful of smaller ventures on management, financial and strategic business matters. Given those contrasting experiences, Matt quickly recognized that he preferred to discuss growth and opportunity more than risk allocation and mitigation (though he still does that too, reluctantly). Recognizing that the corner office of a law firm was not his dream, in 2016 Matt started down an irreversible entrepreneurial path that has included celebrated peaks and lonely valleys, complex twists and unpredictable turns, and a lot of blood, sweat and tears. Notwithstanding the difficulty of the journey, Matt would not change a thing about his personal successes or failures, nor the path that led him to co-found Student Connect.
When Matt is not working (which is rare), Matt keeps himself busy coaching and supporting his four children’s athletic endeavors, mentoring and supporting others to achieve their goals, and enjoying all that living in Idaho has to offer.
