Matt Reynolds is an Associate Professor in the Departments of Computer Science and Engineering and Electrical Engineering at the University of Washington. Currently, he is a Co-Founder and the Chief Executive Officer at ThruWave. He was also a co-founder of the RFID systems firm ThingMagic, Inc. (acquired by Trimble Navigation) and the energy
monitoring company Zensi (acquired by Belkin, Inc.). Matt’s research interests include RFID, energy efficiency at the physical layer of wireless communication, and the physics of sensing and actuation.
Matt received a Ph.D. from the MIT Media Lab in 2003, where he was a Motorola Fellow. He also earned his B.S. and M.Eng. degrees in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from MIT. He is a Senior Member of the IEEE, has received five Best Paper awards, and has 13 issued and over 30 pending patents.
