Melfort Campbell established his own business in 1985 and has since established a group of specialised engineering businesses serving the marine, defence, energy and utility industries worldwide. Over a period of more than 25 years Imes Group member companies have supplied, and continue to supply, customers worldwide applying innovative engineering
products and techniques in a wide range of applications and industries.
In addition, Melfort served as Chairman of the CBI in Scotland and as Chairman of the Robert Gordon University Board of Governors and has been involved in European and UK programmes for the development of enterprise, innovation, economic development and business and education links.
Now, non executive in his own businesses Melfort sits on a number of boards with a particular focus on the Oil and Gas industry, Co- Chairing the Scottish Enterprise Oil and Gas Advisory Board, as well as sitting on the board of the Independent Technology Facilitator, on the Oil and Gas UK Contractors Council and the Scottish Funding Council’s Research and Knowledge Exchange Committee.
Melfort also has charitable interests as Chairman of the Atlantic Salmon Trust and a board member of Dreamstore, and personal interest in running the family farm outside Aberdeen.
