He was also accountable for clinical and pharmacoeconomic outcomes research, formulary management and contract research for Express Scripts. He served as Chief Operating Officer, Diversified Pharmaceutical Services (DPS) – Canada, Toronto and Senior Director for Business Development for DPS, Minneapolis. His career includes over 15 years of experience in hospitals and academic medical centers in administrative, faculty and clinical practice roles. Michael Flagstad served as Associate Director of Pharmacy at Shands Hospital at the University of Florida, Clinical Coordinator at Ingalls Memorial Hospital, Harvey, Illinois, and Clinical Pharmacist at Mercy Hospital Center, Des Moines, Iowa. In addition, he held pharmacy faculty appointments at the University of Florida, Purdue University, and Drake University. He served as a Director at Gorman Health Group, LLC. In 1999, he was an Honorary Fellow at the Center for Health System Research and Analysis at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He holds pharmacy licensure by examination in Wisconsin and Florida and completed his pharmacy residency at the University of Wisconsin Hospital and Clinics in Madison, Wisconsin. He has authored or coauthored over 35 publications and has presented more than 185 invited presentations and workshops at professional conferences and seminars. He is the 2000 recipient of the Winston J. Durant Lectureship Award from the University of Wisconsin Hospitals and Clinics. He lives in Minneapolis. Michael Flagstad received a B.S. in pharmacy in 1974 and M.S. in Hospital Pharmacy in 1976 from the University of Wisconsin, Madison.
