Prior to starting GoodBed, Michael was a Principal of Waller Sutton Capital, a New York-based private equity firm focused on the media and communications sector. At Waller Sutton, Michael initiated and led the firm’s marketing services practice, developing a particular interest in vertically-oriented digital media properties. He was responsible for
the acquisition of Discover Magazine (a leading consumer science publication, acquired by Kalmbach Publishing) from Disney, as well as Waller Sutton’s investments in [x+1] (a provider of leading-edge online marketing optimization services, acquired by RocketFuel (NASDAQ:FUEL)) and AAT Communications (then the largest private operator of wireless communications towers, acquired by SBA Communications (NASDAQ:SBAC)). Previously, Michael worked at Time Warner’s Digital Media Investment Fund (now Time Warner Ventures) and Dean & Company, a boutique strategy consulting firm in Washington, DC. Michael is also a founder and General Partner of Westward Capital Management, a private equity investment firm based in San Francisco.
Michael graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a BAS in Systems Engineering and a BSE in Finance from The Wharton School. He received his MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business.
