Global Expertise Across Europe, America, and Asia. Committed to ending cancer as we know it, for everyone.
Born in Berlin during the Cold War, I emigrated to the United States in 1991, a year and a half after witnessing the fall of the Berlin Wall, to attend college and graduate school, and becoming a U.S. citizen in
2002.
I have led several companies in the technology and healthcare sectors and served as president of the global risk management firm founded by former FBI Director Louis J. Freeh.
Over the past 20 years, I have chaired and served on corporate boards in Indonesia, Malaysia, France, and the United States while advising clients on global strategy, corporate governance, business development, and emerging technology challenges.
Following a lifelong commitment to fighting cancer after losing several loved ones to the disease, I have served as chair of the national board of the American Cancer Society, one of the nation’s oldest, largest and most impactful non-profit organizations. In March of 2023 I was named CEO of a biotech startup that is on a mission to build a revolutionary cancer diagnosis platform to solve the challenge of early cancer prognosis and detection.
I have lived and worked in Europe, Asia, and the United States and am fluent in my native German. I hold the CERT Cybersecurity Oversight Certificate for corporate directors and have been a Board Leadership Fellow of the National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD) since 2014. NACD appointed me as one of 18 Commissioners to make recommendations on the Future of the American Board.
In January of 2022, President Biden appointed me to serve on the U.S. Commission for the Preservation of America’s Heritage Abroad.
