Michael Powers, Founder, started apptap to connect independent app developers to mobile app consumers and to utilize online social networks to further expand that market. As an independent app developer, he shipped applications for the first commercially available Java-enabled handsets for the Sprint network in 2002, winning awards from Motorola
and Sun Microsystems. Turning to the smartphone market, his applications and games launched as top-sellers on the original T-Mobile Sidekick, and he later helped both Apple and Microsoft kick start their mobile developer outreach programs. Powers is a graduate of Princeton University.
