Nicolas CELIER joined Ring Capital as Co-Founder in 2016.Nicolas started his professional career in 1994 in the corporate finance department of Paribas in Hong Kong, where he stayed for 5 years, advising corporate clients on M&A transactions. In 1999, Nicolas sailed 14,000 miles between Hong Kong and Brittany on a 40-feet sailing yacht. In
2000, Nicolas contributed to the creation of the venture capital practice at Crédit Lyonnais Private Equity; he oversaw the electronic and semiconductor sector and was a board member of Dibcom (Parrot), SI Automation (PDF Solutions NSQ) and Tronic’s Microsystems (Alternext). Nicolas joined Alven Capital in February 2005, and was promoted to partner in 2007; he co-raised and co-invested Alven III (€100m, Net IRR 19.4% and 2.8x multiple to date and) and Alven IV (€120m, Net IRR 53.7% and 4.7x multiple to date). He invested €65m in 20 companies including Sézane, Dataïku, Gemmyo, Qosmos, Ercom, Monshowroom, Liligo, Textmaster, etc. Nicolas has also developed its conviction on impact investing over the years. He co-founded Investir&+ in 2012, France's first social good venture capital fund. He invested in and is a board member of a prominent French social good start-up (HelloAsso). Nicolas co-founded France Digitale in 2012, the association engaged in the promotion of the French digital ecosystem and was a board member for 6 years. He is also a co-founder of Tech For Good France, now part of Impact France. Nicolas graduated from Ecole des Hautes Etudes Commerciales (HEC 1994) in Paris and holds a CEMS Master’s degree from Luigi Bocconi University in Milan.
