Nicole E. Hastings is the Vice President of Operations at Hemoshear. Hastings oversees HemoShear’s processes, internal execution and growth.
Hastings obtained her Ph.D. from the Department of Biomedical Engineering at the University of Virginia, where she worked with the co-founders Blackman and Wamhoff to develop HemoShear’s vascular system.
Nikki is an active member of VirginiaBio, the statewide biotechnology trade organization, through which she supports local STEM initiatives. Hastings is first author on two peer-reviewed publications, is co-author on five additional high-impact publications, and has presented at various international meetings.
Prior to obtaining her Ph.D. at UVa, she obtained a bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering from North Carolina State University.
