Noam Shazeer is a computer scientist and AI researcher who serves as VP of Engineering and co-lead on Google's Gemini AI project. He is known for having introduced the transformer architecture in the seminal paper "Attention Is All You Need," which he co-authored. Shazeer was previously the founder and CEO of Character.AI and before
that he worked as Principal Software Engineer at Google. He studied math and computer science at Duke University.
