Oscar is the founder and leader since 2016 of one of the most promising laboratories in Latin America within the oncological medication market. Before establishing Felirni Labs, he spent 16 years in business development within the pharmaceutical industry across various business units, ultimately focusing on Oncology.
Thanks to a career in the
pharmaceutical industry that he diligently forged for nearly two decades in Venezuela, Colombia, and Ecuador, this entrepreneur managed to establish strategic partnerships with one of India's specialized drug manufacturers, Beta Drugs PVT LTD (a company Forbes lists among the 400 largest companies in Asia). This partnership provided him with the endorsement and impetus to make Felirni Labs the Latin American company that will lead the market for biosimilar drugs to combat oncological diseases.
Oscar's vision as CEO is to deconstruct the idea that the quality of biosimilar drugs is inferior to that of innovators. He believes in the possibility of providing treatments created with the world's best science and technology and making them accessible to countries in our continent.
Often, our countries lack access to these medications due to economic setbacks or the interests of distributors and laboratories more oriented towards financial gain than patient well-being.
His constant concern for personal and business development led him to undergo leadership training programs at the University of Cambridge and Harvard Business School, providing the necessary tools for Felirni's business plan development in the region.
Today, Felirni Labs has its main headquarters in Portugal and operates in Panama, Colombia, and Mexico, with plans for expansion to Central America, Peru, and Chile. It also boasts a portfolio of 86 products within the oncological medication sector, which in approximately two years, is expected to become the most comprehensive in Latin America. Recently, Felirni obtained approval for the stringent certifications of Colombian legislation, and with time and hard work, Felirni Labs aims to make its value proposition and services in the Latin American market accessible to the world: "What drives me is the firm idea of making Felirni Labs the benchmark for high-quality biosimilar drugs. Our priority is and always will be the patient. I don't say this phrase lightly or in vain. Our focus is genuinely on optimizing patients' lives and helping them improve, whether in budget, treatment, or its effectiveness. Once that goal is achieved, business success naturally follows. Success should be the consequence of doing well what we are dedicated to."
